The Stars: Copper, Silver and Gold
Welcome to a special August edition! This month, I feel particularly inspired to share with you a topic that has sparked a deep connection and a new approach to my work as a jeweler. So, take a moment, make yourself comfortable, and join me on this cosmic journey that I am sure you will find as fascinating as I do.
Inspiration: “Autobiography of a Yogi”
I want to start this blog by introducing you to a book that has been an inexhaustible source of wisdom for millions of people around the world: “Autobiography of a Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda. Born in 1893, this wise teacher has left an everlasting legacy through his teachings on Kriya yoga and meditation, spread through his Yogoda Satsanga society.
What strikes me most about Yogananda is how his teachings remain incredibly relevant today, demonstrating the timeless connection that all human beings share, no matter when and where we are.
In particular, I want to highlight Chapter 16 of this book, entitled “How to Master the Influences of the Stars” This chapter has been the catalyst for a new and significant stage in the creation of my jewelry.
Astrology: An Ancestral Link
Before we delve into the chapter that has influenced me so much, I want to take you back to the origins of astrology, a practice that dates back thousands of years before modern science even existed. Its birth is in Mesopotamia, in the 3rd millennium BC, the same place from which all human beings share ancestry. From there, astrology spread to India and exerted a profound influence on ancient Greece during the Hellenistic era, until it became integrated into Western cultures.
But what is astrology? It is the study of celestial bodies and their influences on Earth and our lives. Although some may not believe in this mystical practice, the facts narrated in Chapter 16 of “Autobiography of a Yogi” They demonstrate how these cosmic phenomena have been studied with astonishing precision, both before and after Newton.
What I discovered in this chapter is that these influences of the cosmos are neither good nor bad in themselves; however, they inevitably affect us, as we are born at a specific astrological moment that is intrinsically related to our karma. Yogananda explains that, throughout these ancient studies, ways have been found to facilitate our path on Earth. In addition to crystals, which I already work with in my jewelry, we can use certain metals, specifically three: gold, silver, and copper. By combining these metals with crystals, we can more effectively manage the influences of the universe, opening ourselves to learning about our path and getting closer to enlightenment.
The “Astros” Collection: Protection and Cosmic Guidance
After being immersed in these teachings, I was inspired to create a new collection that aims to protect, care for and guide us through the universe. The “Astros” collection is the result of this inspiration, where I mix gold, silver and copper metals with precious stones, with the intention that you always carry the protection of the universe with you.
I designed the first piece in this collection for my dear husband, who has been a fundamental pillar in this path that I now share with you. I made him a bracelet with these metals and garnet, a precious stone known for its protective energy, so that it will always take care of him.
And now, I want to offer all of you the opportunity to own this very special accessory. If you are as passionate about this topic as I am, I invite you to visit my shop. There, I will be happy to read you the book, show you each piece of the collection and explain everything I have learned.
I look forward to seeing you all at the launch of this collection that is so meaningful to me.
See you soon!
